We are one of 35 Prevention Research Centers nationwide, all funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Funded since 2001, the PHH-PRC is part of CDC’s network of academic researchers, public health agencies and community members conducting applied research in disease prevention and control. | PHH-PRC Objectives - Assess the public health needs of residents and disseminate PHH-PRC findings and other relevant information
- Design and perform prevention research in public housing settings
- Maintain successful prevention programs for residents through integration into ongoing programs of partner agencies
- Expand effective partnerships to address the public health needs of residents
- Identify and educate current and future leaders among residents to improve community’s health
- Provide public health practice learning opportunities for Boston University School of Public Health students
