Collaborations

The Collaborations/Partnerships Core of the Partners in Health and Housing Prevention Research Center (PHH-PRC) has two complementary goals:

  • The first goal is to maintain successful programs for public housing residents through integration into ongoing programs of partner agencies.
  • The second goal is to expand an effective partnership with the BU School of Public Health (BUSPH), the Boston Housing Authority (BHA), the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and the Community Committee for Health Promotion (CCHP) to address the public health needs of public housing residents.

These goals will be addressed through four objectives:  1) Improve partnership functioning, 2) Establish new partnerships with community health centers and other housing developments, 3) Increase public housing resident involvement with the PHH-PRC, and 4) Assure the integration of prevention programs into partner agencies.

The PHH-PRC has engaged management and staff of the Partners in a mutual effort to plan, implement, and evaluate our public health research programs for BHA residents at housing developments in inner city neighborhoods of Boston.  These partnerships and collaborations are embodied and expressed within the major components and activities of the PHH-PRC.
